What does Donald Trump teach us about the state of America today? 3

His supporters see him as an anti establishment straight shooter that will "make America great again" and protect its borders and industry from foreign takeover. His detractors see him as an egocentric liar that would plunge America into chaos and destroy its image around the world. What ever the sentiment, his rise to prominence and indeed that of outsider Bernie Sanders seem symptomatic of a change in tied in US politics. What does this current reveal?
